A Redefining Moment in Our Nation's History

In about a week we have an opportunity to define the nature of the CA Republican Party, hopefully with conservative candidates like Chuck DeVore.  But we are not just in a battle to define the Republican Party but to define the very soul of our nation.  Is our country based on a Constitution or as the progressives want, to define truth and morality as the need arises.

The powerful SEIU and AFSCME unions have declared they are putting up 100M toward the reelection of incumbents (Democrats), in November.  Add to this the large war chests of the AFL-CIO, the two teachers unions, environmental groups, trial lawyers, etc.  Will the Tea Partiers be able to maintain their status as the political leaders of the American people despite attacks from the left, with their vast resources, and the ongoing support of the MSM?

In the very fight of their lives, for if they lose, there is sure to be retribution, they are going to pull out all the stops.  From this point on, nothing is sacred.  Are we in a country that is to be defined by the huge establishment that has been created to maintain power for the political elites of the left.  Let's face it, labor unions served an important purpose at the turn of the last century, but now do little more than serve as a power base for the union bosses.  Republicans have thus far been afraid to go after the powerful unions, public employes and teachers.

Hopefully, due to the leftward swing of the government this past year and heavy handed Chicago style politics of the Obama administration, the American people will swing to the right.  Despite the inclination of the left in our country, the nation as a whole does not like change, and prefers to maintain the status quo, except when ones livelihood is at risk.  With the re-emergence of the Republican Party taking control of the Congress, there has to be a redefining of the power of those elites so that this cannot happen again.

What Do We Stand for?

It is almost that time again where Republicans and Democrats will again be selecting there nominees in the upcoming June 8th Primary. In the Republican Party we see the liberal/Moderate wing of the party with there candidates and those of us who want the Republican Party to continue being the Conservative Party with our Candidates. Then there are Candidates that claim to be Conservative, who have no record in anyway of supporting any Conservative Cause or Candidate, but realize that to win the Party‘s nomination they need the Conservative Vote within the Party to Succeed. Most of those Candidates make themselves sound Conservative, however once they are nominated they go back to there moderate roots for the General Election.

The Critical questions are what kind of Party should the Republican Party be in the future? Why does the Republican Party exist? Why do we oppose the Democrat Party? What do we as Republicans believe in, that makes us the better party of the two major parties in America?

The Republican Party believes in Limited Government, Free Enterprise, Individual Freedom and Responsibility, Strong Defense and Family Values. These Values and principals are what has made America the unique country that it is. We are a Country with a Constitution that guarantees our Freedoms over Tyranny. It is those principals that we need to keep in mind when we vote on June 8.

The Republican Party was founded in 1854 by a coalition of anti-slavery groups. As we did then, when we fought for the Freedom of Slaves, we must continue to fight for the cause of freedom today. The freedom of all Americans to live there lives as they choose, is essential. That includes the right to worship, free to speak out on issues and causes you believe in, the right to work without having to join a Labor Union and the right to pick your own medical care without the government forcing you to go to one of there doctors.

That is why it is important that when Republicans vote in the Tuesday June 8th Primary, that they vote for the Candidate that believes and supports in the right values and principals. In 1992 Democrat James Caville said the election was all about “The economy, stupid.” I believe that our cause is a greater cause. What this election and any election is about is the Survival of Freedom. As Samuel Adams once said "It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

Maybe it is their lack of reading comprehension that led the California Pro-Life Council to endorse Carly Fiorina over Chuck DeVore. DeVore has a strong pro-life record. Fiorina does not.

But they’ve gone too far now with this email:

The conservative leader of Red State web-site has now asked Devore to please consider stepping down in order to stop the splitting of the pro-life vote and giving the nomination to extreme pro-abortion candidate, Campbell.

The California Pro-Life Council is telling people in California I have called for Chuck DeVore to consider stepping down. I’ve done no such thing and on the lies and damn lies category, I’d put it in the damn lies category considering CPLC is a bought and paid for subsidiary of the Fiorina campaign.

As I’ve said repeatedly, I’m standing with Chuck. In fact, in the CNN interview CPLC is touting, I made that clear again and simply said, “Look, if Chuck DeVore hasn’t gone up in the polls within two weeks significantly, I’ll be with Carly Fiorina because Tom Campbell is that bad.” I said that two days ago.

We’ll see what the trends in the race are in two weeks, but if they are consistent I’ll be calling on Fiorina to bail, not Chuck — he’s the only one moving up in the polls.

California Pro-Life Council owes Chuck DeVore and me an apology for lying about what I’ve said to help their own candidate. Personally, I think they need to send a second email to the exact same list saying that, at a minimum, they are in error or, to be more honest, they are totally distorting what I said to help Fiorina.

Shame on them.

Addition To My Previous Blog

So we now have Erick Erickson from Red State telling Chuck DeVore that if he does not go up in the polls, he will be supporting the moderate New Majority candidate Carly Fiorina. Will someone let him know that Chuck DeVore will only be on the California Ballot, not on Mr Erickson, especially since he lives in the state of Georgia. California Conservatives will make up there own minds as to who we choose to support in our own Primary in June.

Where has the Conservative Movement gone in California?

Looking at the California Senate Race, you really have to wonder if there are any true Conservatives left in our state. Yes, there are many organizations and activists that call themselves Conservatives. However, most will say that a Conservative cannot get elected in a statewide race because California is to liberal. In other words they are surrendering the state to moderates in the Republican Party and liberals in the Democrat Party.

If you go to the local level, you will no longer find, in most areas of the state, any grassroots activism as will. Precinct walking has become obsolete in most areas of California because the candidates have been brain washed to believe that the only way to win an election, is by raising a lot of money for direct mail brochures and signs. While I mention signs, I do not mean the ones that are put up in yards, but the ones that are put up by a paid company.

So why is this? Look at the US Senate race in California. The Republican Kingmakers in California and Washington DC have recruited Carly Fiorina as there candidate against Tom Cambell and Conservative Chuck DeVore. For the most part, Carly Fiorina has done a good job of coming across as a Conservative. The question is where are her Conservative Creditionals? The only political thing, I have heard about her being involved with in the past was John McCain’s Presidential campaign in 2008. Frankly, that is not saying much. Secondly she has contradicted herself on different positions she has taken. For example in a recent article a CNN reporter ask her questions about the immigration law in Arizona. He said “Fiorina had to be asked repeatedly whether she supported or opposed the measure.” The Article concluded with “Her questioner finally gave up and changed the subject to offshore oil drilling.” She has also received the endorsement of the New Majority. The New Majority is made up of a membership of moderate and liberal Republicans who claim to represent an “inclusive, mainstream approach toward politics”. There speakers at events they have had, included Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Arnold Schwarzengger, Pete Wilson and Michael Bloomberg. So where does she really stand? Based on what she says and who she spoke to last, it will be very hard to figure out..

Finally, as someone who has been involved in the Conservative Movement since the age of 17, I will support Chuck DeVore, who has a 100% Conservative Voting Record and has the support of the Conservative California Republican Assembly, which has been called the Conscience of the Republican Party. Hopefully Conservatives will not be fooled again as they have been in the past and will realize that if the Conservative Cause is to prevail again in our State, we must start by supporting candidates like Chuck DeVore.
